Call of Duty: Warzone is now a hugely popular free-to-play battle royale game, which looks like its going to take the crown of the massively multiplayer online game from Fortnite. It is not just free-to-play but also offers game-changing features like never before. Warzone was released as free to play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on March 10, part of Call of Duty franchise.
Call of Duty: Warzone is the next part and spin-off of its 2019 title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The Warzone allows online multiplayer combats that include around 150 player set, compared to 100 in Fortnite. The Warzone comes with a unique and fascinating battle royale experience that the Call of Duty fans was waiting for so long.
Here are a few stats:
- The next day, Call of Duty’s tweeted that “over 6 million of you have dropped into #Warzone”. Yes, over 6 million players were gaming in the first 24 hours after the launch.
- Other than playing, half a million viewers streamed the game in the first 24 hours over Twitch for over four million hours of streaming, according to streaming analytic site Sullygnome.
Two game modes of Call of Duty: Warzone — Battle Royale and Plunder
The game starts with jumping off a flying airplane landing in a safe place, allowing players to loot randomly and so the game continues till the player survival. In Warzone, players will get to experience much more loot with the one huge map of Verdansk – an expensive city with 300+ points of interest with Buy Stations, Vehicle Spawns, Ammo Caches. Verdansk has five sectors i.e. North, West, South West, Central and South, and East.
The new Call of Duty delivers an online combat arena featuring two epic modes – Plunder and Battle Royale – of play for up to 150 players. The game-changer Warzone is a complete package of non-stop and endless actions.
The new Call of Duty: Warzone allows players to team up in trios with friends or family for the two game-modes. In Battle Royale, players fight till the end, escaping the deadly gas all over. Use the gas mask to dodge a life. In Plunder, players race to collect the cash of up to $1 million by looting across the Verdansk and can also steal from others to complete in-match contracts.
Verdansk has different zones with different environment types to have a unique engagement with players. Each zone has distinct landmarks like the Gorengard Lumber Yard and the Gora Dam. Players can choose the zone while landing off to a better lay of the land.
Take the Warzone vehicle rides, with the health meter, to escape the gas or to reach on the spot, fastly. The warzone vehicles include ATV, Tactical Rover, SUV, Cargo Truck and the Helicopter.
Warzone is the game of tactics
If players can think tactically, this game is truly for them. Players have to watch their every move carefully. The massive area is densely packed with great stuff explore. The game revolves around smart ways to opt for every gameplay opportunity.
Weapons, armors, and attachments can be found all over the Verdansk map. All of these Warzone machines makes the match more interesting and a strategical experience every time it is played.
Call of Duty: Warzone Vehicles
Here’s an overview of the five vehicle types, according to Activision, that are populated throughout the world in Warzone:
- ATV: a two-seater that provides minimal protection and is considered good for off-roading with fast speed.
- Tactical Rover: a four-seater but provides minimal protection. It is solidly fast and as good for off-roading.
- SUV: another four-seater with great protection. However, it has medium speed and not very ideal for off-roading.
- Cargo Truck: very slow but very large. It holds the squad plus equipment, excellent protection. Not good for off-roading.
- Helicopter: four-seater with decent coverage. It flies.
Gulags in Battle Royale
One amazing thing about Warzone is the inclusion of Gulags. In Fortnite or any other battle game, when a player is dead, it’s gone, and the game is over. But in Warzone, the player who got hit is downed in Gulags.
In Gulags, the players get a chance to have a one-on-one gun-fight match with the other down players and who so ever wins, get the second chance to go back in the match. The losing player still has the hope for a match but has to wait till their mates purchase a redeployment, by completing Contracts and earning enough in-match cash.
Cash in with Contracts 💰
The new Call of Duty: Warzone comes with a battle royale game where players have to scavenge for equipment. The game-map includes several buy stations to buy the new equipment. The cash that you scavenged in-game is used to get that stuff.
The cash can be acquired by completing the Contracts – objective oriented tasks – that can be used to take out the squadmate from gulags within the allotted time frame. The price that players pay to rescue their squadmate is nearly $2000. Do not forget to collect cash via other ways i.e. spawned as floor loot or steal from rival players.
The equipment price that players pay to get them in the range from $1500 to $6000. The equipment includes Armor Plate Bundle, Loadout Drop, explosives, snapshot grenade.
